Jordan McCabe, a Mountaineer basketball player from 2019-21, was named assistant men's basketball coach at West Virginia University on July 1, 2023.
McCabe played in 94 career games and making 49 starts for WVU during his three seasons from 2019-21. He was twice named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team and led WVU in assists as a freshman. McCabe was named to the Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team.

As a freshman at WVU, he was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performances against TCU and Oklahoma. McCabe became the first college basketball player since 2010 to have 25 points (career high), 11 assists (career high) and six steals (career high) in a win over TCU, playing 50 minutes.
He recently completed his collegiate career after playing two seasons at UNLV (2022-23). At UNLV, he started 33 of 55 games. As a senior, McCabe averaged 6.4 points per game and handed out 148 assists.

McCabe earned his undergraduate degree in sport management from WVU in 2021 and received an MBA Certification from UNLV.

A 2018 graduate of Kaukauna High in Wisconsin, McCabe was named Mr. Basketball by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. He earned Associated Press State Player of the Year honors. McCabe finished his high school career as the state’s sixth all-time leading scorer with 2,442 points.
