Played running back and defensive back for coach Marcus Lewis at Varina High School … in his senior season, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in October … as a junior at L.C. Bird, he was named all-state first team as an all-purpose player, earned all-state second team as a kick returner, all-region first team as an all-purpose, second team all-region as a kick returner and third team all-region running back …. finished his career with 26 touchdowns and 2,375 all-purpose yards, including 974 rushing, 675 receiving, 383 on kickoff returns, 213 on punt returns and 130 on interception returns … tallied 1,495 all-purpose yards with 18 touchdowns … played cornerback where he finished with six interceptions, returning three for touchdowns … helped lead Bird to a 10-4 record and advance to the state semifinals … part of the L.C.
