Butts Adds to Howell to 2026-27 Roster

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University gymnastics coach Jason Butts has announced the addition of Allie Howell to the gymnastics roster for the 2026-27 academic year.
A native of Morgantown, Howell graduated from Morgantown High School. She is a four-year Level 10 gymnast and competed for coach Gary Rafaloski at Mountain Magic Gymnastics in Fairmont. Howell is a seven-time regional qualifier, a Level 10 West Virginia all-around state champion and competed at the 2026 Women's Development Program National Championships.
At nationals, Howell competed in all four events, notching top-30 finishes on uneven bars and balance beam. She earned a place at the national meet after finishing in the top five on bars, beam and the all-around at the Region 7 Regional Championships. At the 2026 West Virginia State Championships, Howell swept the podium with a first-place finish on all four events and the all-around to earn a spot at regionals.
Howell made her Level 10 regionals debut in 2023, placing in the top 20 on every event. The following season, she notched a top-15 finish on all four events at the 2024 Regional Championships, highlighted by an 11th-place finish on beam.
The daughter of David and Jodie, Howell plans to major in exercise physiology at WVU.
