WVU Shoots -11 in Final Round

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team shot 11-under-par in the final round of The Johnnie-O at Sea Island at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia, on Tuesday.

In the final round, the Mountaineers were led by Westy McCabe and Nick Turowski, who both shot 4-under-par. Aidan Dortch shot 3-under-par, Jack Michael posted an Even round and Kaleb Wilson was 1-over-par.

McCabe led WVU for the week, shooting 5-under-par (73-70-68=211) and finishing tied for 33rd place. Dortch was -1 (72-74-69=215), Wilson was -2 (68-73-73=214), Michael was +5 (77-72-72=221) and Turowski was +8 (77-79-68=224). Harrison Thompson competed as an individual and shot +8 (75-72-77=224).

The Mountaineers finished 8-under-par for the tournament with rounds of 290-289-277=856 to finish in 15th place.

West Virginia will remain on the road and travel to Statesboro, Georgia, for the Schenkel Invitational this weekend. Golfers will play 18 rounds each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
