
Mountaineers Head to Oklahoma State, Kansas State to Open Big 12 Schedule

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team (6-1) opens Big 12 Conference play this weekend with a two-match road swing, beginning at No. 26 Oklahoma State (3-4) on Friday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. before traveling to Kansas State (3-3) on Sunday March 1.
WVU enters the match following a 4-0 road victory at Marshall. The Mountaineers secured the doubles point before earning three straight-set victories to clinch the match.
Friday's contest marks the 11th all-time meeting between West Virginia and Oklahoma State and the first conference match of the season for the Mountaineers. The Cowgirls hold a 10-0 advantage in the series, including a 4-0 win in last season's matchup.
The road trip concludes Sunday in Manhattan against Kansas State. The Wildcats own the all-time edge in the series, 11-1 and claimed the 4-3 victory over the Mountaineers in the teams' last matchup at the Big 12 Tournament a season ago.
Following the two-match road swing, West Virginia will return home to host No. 33 TCU on March 6.
