MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt senior Cassidy Tanton of the West Virginia volleyball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.

Over the weekend, Tanton was named West Virginia Invitational MVP after leading the Mountaineers to a perfect 3-0 record. WVU secured wins over North Dakota, Liberty and Coppin State.

Tanton had an outstanding individual performance, recording 47 kills and accounting for 49.5 points while posting a .451 hitting efficiency. With the team now 6-0 on the season, the Mountaineers have achieved the third best start in program history.
