
McCabe Honored to CSC Academic All-America Second Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Graduate student Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University cross country and track & field teams was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team, announced by CSC on Tuesday afternoon.
McCabe becomes the 15th Mountaineer in program history to earn the academic achievement, and the first second team selection since 2017.
On the track, McCabe concluded her collegiate career as a national champion in the women's 3,000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 15. The graduate student soared to a facility record time of 9:01.18 and became the first Mountaineer ever to win the event at an indoor championship.
In the classroom, McCabe held a 3.75 GPA while pursuing her master's of science degree in coaching and sport education. The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, native earned a 3.71 GPA during her time as an undergraduate, and graduated with degree in sports and adventure media. Additionally, she was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, U.S.T.F.C.C.A. All-Academic Athlete, Academic All-Big 12, the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
