MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Ten members of the West Virginia University rowing team were honored by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association as 2025 CRCA Scholar-Athletes, including eight with GPAs of 4.0.
"We're particularly proud of these students who have performed at such a high level academically and athletically throughout the year," coach Jimmy King said. "The requirements to achieve this distinction are quite high, and we appreciate their dedication and celebrate their successes!"
The 10 Mountaineer student-athletes named to this year's team are sophomore Jessica Gaston (criminology), junior Emma Higgins (advertising/marketing), senior Adriana Hogan (advertising/marketing), sophomore Raquel Iga (chemistry), senior Ksenia Kaludjerovic (economics), sophomore Alexis Mitchell (health services administration), sophomore Lauren Mueller (multidisciplinary studies), senior Bailey South (anthropology/history), junior Grace Terlion (supply chain management) and sophomore Teegan Wendley (animal and nutritional sciences).
Higgins, Hogan and Terlion earned spots on the team for the second year in a row. This also marks the third time in the past five years that at least 10 rowing student-athletes have made the team and the most since 2022, with the school record being 11 (2021 and 2022).
To earn CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better and must have competed in the NCAA team boats of First Eight, Second Eight and First Four for at least 75% of the team's spring races or at its conference championship. Eligibility also is limited to student-athletes in their sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
