MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team hosted the Stan Romanoski Open on Saturday at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
Saturday's competition was highlighted by sophomore
Lexi Lamb who slated a personal best time of 9:39.38, while claiming first place in the women's 3,000 meters. Additionally, freshman
Joy Naukot took first in the 1,500 meters in her collegiate debut of the event with a time of 4:19.78.
In the 800 meters, sophomore
Eva Rinker collected a career best time of 2:15.21 while taking first place. Redshirt sophomore
Olivia Cress also added a personal best in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 14.65 seconds.
Sophomores
Lily Haught and
Cate Pickering marked personal bests of 25.00 and 25.37 in the 200 meters, respectively.
In the field, redshirt sophomore
Annishka McDonald took first place in the high jump at 1.75 meters. Additionally, freshman Sabira Jones finished second in the long jump after leaping 5.48 meters.
Next, the Mountaineers wrap up the regular season on May 9-10 as they host the WVU Last Chance meet at the Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
