MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rowing team will compete at the 2025 Big 12 Championship on Sunday, May 18, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
 
WVU will boat a 1V8+, 2V8+, 3V8+, 1V4+ and 2V4+.
 
"We are looking forward to racing at a revamped Big 12 with some familiar competition and some fresh competition within the conference," associate head coach Tina Griffith said. "We are excited to see how we fit within that competition and how the new look and feel of the conference inspires us on race day."
 
Six programs will compete in the 16^th Big 12 Championship. Current Big 12 schools UCF, Kansas, Kansas State and West Virginia and affiliate members Old Dominion and Tulsa will be vying for an NCAA automatic bid and a Big 12 title. The racing schedule includes six final-only races. The Championship starts at 9 a.m. with the 3V4+ exhibition race. Scoring races will begin 15 minutes later with the 3V8+ and continue with 15-minute centers for the rest of the field. An awards ceremony will conclude the day.
 
The team with the highest combined score among the three NCAA automatic qualifier races – 1V8+, 2V8+ and 1V4+ – will receive the Conference's automatic qualifiers to the NCAA Championship. The team with the highest combined score among the points races - 1V8+, 2V8+, 1V4+, 2V4+ and 3V8+ - will take home the Big 12 title.
