
Leigh Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W. Va.– After posting a pair of top scores on floor exercise at the NCAA Regional Championships, senior Anna Leigh of the West Virginia University gymnastics team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The St. Michael, Minnesota, native scored a 9.875 on April 2, as the Mountaineers competed against Maryland in the First Round of the NCAA Pennsylvania Regional. The total helped her finish in second place in the final standings.
She then scored a 9.9 on floor while competing as an individual event specialist in the Second Round on April 3. The total marked her sixth score of 9.9 or higher on floor this season, while it also was the second-highest total from any gymnast on floor during the second session. She finished in a tie for sixth place at the end of the competition.
Additionally, Leigh finished the season with a National Qualifying Score of 9.91 and an average of 9.79.
This Week in Baseball: West Virginia has four games this week, beginning with a home game against Penn State on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ... the Mountaineers will then go on the road for a weekend series at Houston ... first pitch on Friday and Saturday is set for 7:30 p.m. while Sunday is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
