Duncan’s 67 Paces WVU at Big 12 Championship

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior golfer Todd Duncan shot a 3-under-par 67, tying for the second-lowest score ever by a Mountaineer golfer in the Big 12 Golf Championship, on Wednesday at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Duncan, a native of Daniels, West Virginia, recorded five birdies on the day to jump 33 spots into the Top 20 on the individual leaderboard with one round to play. Duncan is tied for 18th place at +8 after rounds of 74-77-67. The lowest round in Big 12 play by a Mountaineer golfer was a 66 by Matthew Sharpstene in 2019. Sharpstene also shot a 67 in 2018 as did Max Green in 2023. Duncan's -3 was the second-lowest round in the field in round three.
Kaleb Wilson shot +3 in round three and is tied for 46th place at +13, while Max Green shot +6 in round three and is tied for 51st place at +14. Westy McCabe shot +4 today and is now +17 for the tournament, while Carson Kammann shot +11 and is now +31 after three rounds.
West Virginia jumped one spot in the team standings to 13th place after shooting +10 on Wednesday. The Mountaineers trail No. 28 BYU by five shots and are ahead of Baylor, Iowa State and UCF.
The third and final round will begin on Thursday morning at Southern Hills Country Club.
