MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Camryn Camp and
Griffin Lake of the West Virginia University rifle team each collected a first-place finish at the 2025 USA Shooting Junior Olympics in smallbore on Friday. Camp claimed the women's title while Lake took the men's title.
The result for Lake marked a clean sweep at the event after also claiming the air rifle championship earlier in the week. Additionally,
Ashlyn Blake and
Jacob Wisman also qualified for their respective smallbore finals, turning in a fourth and sixth-place finish.
Lake scored 450.1 in the men's final to finish in first place while Wisman hit a mark of 396.6. Lake reached a third-place mark of 1,147 in qualifying, as Wisman managed a 1,137 to qualify in fifth place.
Camp totaled a 445.1 in the finals to sit atop the women's podium and Blake scored a fourth-place mark of 416.9. In qualifying Blake turned in the second-highest total with a 1,148 while Camp sat in fourth with a 1,143.
Incoming freshman Jack Ogoreuc narrowly missed out on the men's final with a ninth-place qualifying score of 1,123.
