WVU Posts Highest Finish at Schenkel Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University golf team posted its best finish at the Schenkel Invitational by placing sixth in the three-day event in Statesboro, Georgia.
The Mountaineers shot 3-under-par in the final round to finish +2 for the tournament with rounds of 293-288-285=866 in the 14-team field.
Kaleb Wilson led WVU by shooting Even par for the event with rounds of 74-70-72=216 to finish tied for 23rd place. Todd Duncan tied for 31st place with rounds of 74-73-72=219 (+3), while Max Green tied for 38th place with rounds of 71-78-71=220 (+4). Carson Kammann posted WVU's lowest round of the day with a bogey-free, 2-under par 70 and finished tied for 44th place with rounds of 76-75-70=221 (+5). Westy McCabe also tied for 44th place by shooting 74-70-77=221 (+5).
"Kaleb Wilson continues to play stellar golf," coach Sean Covich said. "We got a lot of great golf from Carson Kammann and Westy McCabe this week when we needed it. Todd (Duncan) and Max (Green) fought hard even without their best stuff and gave us some good rounds."
West Virginia will be back in action on Monday, April 14, hosting the two-day Mountaineer Invitational at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
