
McCabe Wins Silver at Eagle Elite on Friday Night

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Graduate student Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University track and field team earned a second-place finish in the women's mile at the Eagle Elite in Boston, Massachusetts inside of the TRACK at new balance on Friday evening.
McCabe earned a season best time of 4:29.86, marking her second fastest time in the event.
Additionally in the mile, classmate Madison Trippett earned a personal best time of 4:42.04, claiming 15th place. Sophomore Tecla Lokrale rounded out the Mountaineers in the event, finishing with a time of 4:54.13.
In the 3,000 meters, graduate student Sarah Tait boasted a personal best time of 8:59.73, earning a fourth-place finish. With the time, Tait remains third all-time in program history. Additionally, freshman Naomi Kemboi had her collegiate debut in the event, running for 9:17.46.
Sophomore Kishay Rowe claimed 14th place in the 800 meters, with a time of 2:09.89.
Next, the Mountaineers continue competition at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 15. Saturday's meet will be held at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Mass. and is set to begin at 9 a.m. ET.
