Shaw Earns Big 12 Starting Five Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior guard Sydney Shaw has been named to the Big 12 Women's Basketball Starting five for the week, as the Mountaineers beat Temple 89-61 and No. 15 Duke 57-49, last week.
Shaw recorded her first career double-double against Temple with a team-leading 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Shaw then led WVU to a victory over Duke while being just one of five Mountaineers and the only starter available in the second half. Scored 16 points, all coming in the second half, and made five straight foul shots to put the game away. She added seven rebounds and three assists.
The Mountaineers are back at home on Thursday, Nov. 20, when they take on Appalachian State for Education Day. Tipoff is slated for 10:15 a.m. ET.
