Lake Named Student-Athlete of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior Griffin Lake of the West Virginia University rifle team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Lake became just the 11th Mountaineer in program history to record a perfect 600 air rifle in a match against Memphis. Lake continued his dominant stretch by claiming six first-place marks across two matches with two in aggregate scoring, two in smallbore and two in air rifle.
In WVU's win over No. 10 Memphis, Lake swept the podium, before repeating the feat in a tri-match against No. 8 Murray State and No. 19 UT Martin.
Lake currently leads the nation with averages of 1193 in aggregate, 594 in smallbore and 599 in air rifle.
