WVU Returns to Youthtowne for Carnegie Mellon Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team will compete at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Oct. 12. The women's 5k race is slated to begin at 10:45 a.m. ET, at Youthtowne in Clinton, Pennsylvania.

The Mountaineers return to Youthtowne, the same course they raced on earlier this season at the RMU Colonial Invitational.
Last time out, the Mountaineers claimed first place at the Swags Louisville Classic on Oct. 4 in Louisville, with 34 team points. Sophomore Joy Naukot crossed the finished line in third place, collecting a program record and personal best time of 15:48.9 in the women's 5k.
West Virginia was tabbed No. 9 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Poll on Tuesday, after the team's performance in Louisville. Additionally, the squad was picked first in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic regional rankings, ahead of No. 2 Penn State, No. 3 Villanova, No. 3 Georgetown and No. 5 Princeton.
