
West Virginia Meets Navy in First Match of 2025

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 3-ranked West Virginia University rifle team is set to open the 2025 portion of its schedule with a match against No. 7 Navy in the team's third Great America Rifle Conference match of the season.
Saturday's match is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET from the WVU Rifle Range inside the WVU Shell Building.

The Mountaineers are 33-8 all-time against Navy in a series that dates back to 1966. West Virginia and the Navy met last season where WVU won 4739-4697 on the road.
The Mountaineers have won 21 straight regular season matches, dating back to the beginning of the 2023-24 season. West Virginia's 4738.2 aggregate score is second best in the nation. The 2354 mark in smallbore is the best while the 2384.2 in air rifle sits second.
Sophomore Griffin Lake is averaging a team-leading 1185.8 aggregate average which is the fifth best in the country. Lake averages a 590.1 in smallbore and is the fifth best in the nation. Camryn Camp's air rifle mark of 596.5 is the eight-best in the country.
