Kaleb Wilson shot rounds of 72-68 (-2) and is tied for fifth place after 36 holes to lead the West Virginia University golf team at the season-opening Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minnesota.

Nick Turowski recorded a seventh-place finish in his first collegiate tournament with rounds of 71-71-75=217 (+1).
In addition to Wilson at the team competition at the Gopher Invitational held at Windsong Farm Golf Club, senior
Max Green shot rounds of 75-71 (+4) and is tied for 24
th place. Fellow senior
Todd Duncan recorded rounds of 73-74 (+5) and is tied for 30
th place. Freshman
Ryan Leach and redshirt freshman
Hugh Donegan played in their first collegiate tournament on Sunday. Leach shot rounds of 77-79 (+14), while Donegan posted rounds of 82-77 (+17).
As a team, the Mountaineers shot rounds of 297-290 (+19) and are in 10th place in the 15-team field.
The third and final round of the Gopher Invitational will begin at 7:15 a.m. CT on Monday.
