Rowing Names 14 to Novice/Walk-On Squad

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After conducting a one-week tryout, the West Virginia University rowing team has announced its 2024-25 novice/walk-on squad, featuring 14 first-year rowers.
The 2024 Novice/Walk-On Team includes Nicole Barringer, Heidi Bretz, Elena Castonguay, Jayden Gray, Arianna Hannan, Shayleigh Hannigan, Olivia Kuntz, Vanessa Newhouse, Olivia Pennington, Kaylee Price, Emerson Riley, Sarah Shepard, Beverly Staples and Annabelle Wagner
"First, we want to thank all of those who tried out for the team," associate head coach Tina Griffith said. "We appreciate your time and effort and hope you all had a positive experience. For all of those who did make the team, congratulations. We are super excited to see the impact these individuals will make."
The newest Mountaineers will begin team practices on, Saturday, Sept. 28th and will continue throughout the fall. They have their first competition at the Bucknell Novice Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 10th, at 11 a.m. on the Susquehanna River, hosted by Bucknell University.
