MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team raced in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase final at the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship late Friday night in Waco, Texas.
After a night full of inclement weather delays, redshirt senior
Mikenna Vanderheyden finished fourth on the podium for the Mountaineers in the event after posting a time of 10:13.39.

Sarah Tait had her collegiate debut at the conference championship, running for a time of 10:22.24 to finish ninth overall.
Due to weather conditions, the women's 800-meter preliminary race has been moved to Saturday's slate of competition where it will be held as a timed final. Freshmen

Kishay Rowe as well as redshirt junior
Cassandra Williamson will compete in the event.
The Mountaineers wrap up the 2024 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday afternoon. West Virginia is set to compete in the women's high jump, 800-meter final, 5,000 meter final and the 4x400 meter relay at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium. The championship will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, while live results will be available on WVUsports.com.
