
JJ Quinerly Named WBCA All-American Honorable Mention

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior guard JJ Quinerly of the West Virginia University women's basketball team has earned Honorable Mention status on this year's Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Team, the organization announced.
The recognition marks Quinerly's second All-America honor this season. On March 20, the Norfolk, Virginia, native also earned Honorable Mention status on this year's Associated Press All-America team. Quinerly is the first Mountaineer to be named to the WBCA All-America squad since Ksyre Gondrezick in 2021.
Quinerly is the 31st All-America selection in WVU program history and is the 14th player from the Mountaineer women's basketball history to be named to an All-America team.
In 33 contests this season, Quinerly led West Virginia in scoring 23 times and averaged 19.8 points per contest, the best mark on the team. The junior guard added 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.7 assists throughout the 2023-2024 season. Her 652 points this season are the seventh most all-time.
Quinerly was also named to the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year while picking up All Big 12 First Team and Defensive Team honors for the second time in her career this season. She was also a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year and on the WBCA Player of the Year Watchlist.
