MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women's basketball head coach Mark Kellogg has announced the addition of Célia Rivière (Paris, France/NW Florida State) to a grant-in-aid for the 2024-25 academic year.

The 6-foot-3 forward from Paris, France is considered one of the top JUCO players in the country. She has played two seasons of collegiate basketball with two seasons of eligibility remaining after beginning her career at Northwest Florida State in the NJCAA.
 
Rivière holds a career 53.4% mark from the floor and has netted 637 points (9.8 PPG), 372 rebounds (5.7 PPG) and 140 assists (2.1 APG) across two seasons. She has played in 65 career contests, making 60 starts, all while recording 1,484 minutes played. She has 11 double-digit rebounding performances for her career and has hit a career-high 11 rebounds three times.
 
Last season, Rivière played in all 32 games while making 32 starts. She averaged 12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds while playing 22.5 minutes per game. She attacked the offensive glass grabbing 59 of her 218 rebounds during the season on the offensive end. The mark led the Raiders' rebounding efforts.
 
She helped lead NW Florida State to the NJCAA National Championship game in back-to-back seasons. She was named an NJCAA Second Team All-American and added the FCSAA/Region VII Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors. The forward also adds all-conference and JUCO National Player of the Week honors during the season.
 
She scored a season-high 29 points in a game against Pensacola State and added 10 rebounds to record a double-double. She shot the ball at 56.8% for the season, ranking 21^st in the NJCAA.
 
Riviere played in all 33 games during her freshman season, starting 28 while averaging 7.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She played 23.1 minutes per game during her first collegiate season as the Raiders won the NJCAA National Championship.
 
She graduated high school from Lattes Montpellier in France. Rivière intends to major in Business and Marketing while at West Virginia University. She is the daughter of Jean-Francois and Lise Riviere and has one sibling, Juliette.
