MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team hosted the Mountaineer Twilight on Saturday at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
Saturday's meet was highlighted by a Mountaineer sweep in the women's 800 meter as redshirt senior
Mikenna Vanderheyden claimed first with a time of 2:07.03. Freshman
Kishay Rowe finished second with a time of 2:08.21, followed by classmate
Mary Delaney who collected a personal best time of 2:11.97 along with a third-place finish. Freshman
Eva Rinker rounded out the event in fourth, running for a 2:16.82 time.
Freshman Lily Haught added a pair of first place finishes in the women's 200 and 400 meters, with times of 25.64 and 58.63, respectively.
In the 1,500 meters, redshirt sophomore
Zara Zervos boasted a personal record of 4:49.17 to finish second overall. Additionally, classmate
Aubrie Custer trailed behind, racing for a personal best of 4:53.66.
Next, West Virginia will travel to the Penn Relays on April 25-27. The relays will take place at Franklin Field in Philadelphia and will be streamed live on FloTrack, while live results can be found at WVUsports.com.
