MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Mia Cheatwood will represent the West Virginia University women's swimming and diving team at the 2024 NCAA Women's Division I Swimming and Diving Championships on March 20-23, at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga.
"I'm very happy for Mia," head coach Vic Riggs said. "She has done a very good job of adjusting in and out of the pool from last year. To see her hard work pay off is great, and it's great to have the Flying WV back at the fastest women's meet in the country if not the world."
Cheatwood was invited to compete in the 200 breaststroke event. She will also compete in the 100 breaststroke event. A total of 322 participants (281 swimmers and 41 divers) will compete in the championships.
Cheatwood set two program records in the 100 breaststroke (1.00.08) and the 200 breaststroke (2.09.13) at the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships in Morgantown. Cheatwood also earned a bronze medal in the A final of the 200 breaststroke.
ESPN+ will provide live digital coverage for preliminary and finals sessions from Wednesday, March 20, through Saturday, March 23.
