Box Score MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 71 West Virginia University tennis team defeated the Houston Cougars, 6-1, at the Mountaineer Tennis Courts on Friday.
For the first time since joining the Big 12, West Virginia (13-5, 2-4 Big 12) has won at least two conference matches in a single season. With the win against Houston, the Mountaineers will also have their first winning season since 2010.

Momoko Nagato earned its ninth win of the season in the No. 1 spot, 6-1.

Tatiana Lipatova won, 6-1, in the No. 3 seed match.
Kucharova earned the first singles win for the Mountaineers in the No. 5 seed match, winning 6-0, 6-3. Redshirt sophomore
Maja Dodik took the second singles victory of the evening with a 6-3, 6-3, win in the No. 4 seed match.
Nagato rallied after she lost the first set, 6-1. She went on to win the next two sets to claim the win, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2, to seal the victory for West Virginia.
