Davenport Earns Runner-Up Finish in Tennessee

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior golfer Jackson Davenport earned a runner-up finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate in Sevierville, Tennessee, on Tuesday.
Davenport posted rounds of 71-72-72=215 (+2) to finish one shot off the tournament title.
Fellow senior Oli Ménard posted a Top 10 finish with rounds of 70-72-77=219 (+6) to finish tied for eighth place.
Sophomore Westy McCabe finished tied for 17th place with rounds of 75-75-73=223 (+10), and sophomore Carson Kammann tied for 23rd place with rounds of 86-69-70=225 (+12). All four golfers competed as individuals.
Davenport's runner-up finish marked the second time this week that a Mountaineer finished second in an event. Junior Max Green finished second at the Schenkel Invitational on Sunday.
The Mountaineers will be back in action on Sunday at The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Charleston, South Carolina.
