
Green, Sullivan Named Student-Athletes of the Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore Abigail Sullivan of the West Virginia University men's and women's swimming and diving team and junior Max Green of the West Virginia University golf team have been named the WVU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
Green shot 10-under-par to finish tied for second at the tournament in Statesboro, Georgia, from March 15-17. Green shot 5-under-par in the final round on Sunday to lead the Mountaineers to a two-spot improvement from Saturday.
Green finished with rounds of 71-68-67=206. West Virginia placed eighth in the tournament.
Sullivan became the first female WVU diver to qualify for the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships following her performance at the 2024 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.
Sullivan qualified for the NCAA championships after she placed fifth in the women's platform event with a total score of 465.45.
Sullivan is the first female WVU to diver qualify for the NCAA championships on the women's platform.
The 2024 NCAA Championships will take place from March 20-23, at the Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Georgia.
This Week in Women's Basketball: The Mountaineers are set to compete against No. 9 Princeton on Saturday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m. ET in the first round of the NCAA Championship … the contest will be played in Iowa City, Iowa, inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
