
Puskovitch Finishes Competition at World Aquatics Championships

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior Ivan Puskovitch of the West Virginia University men's swimming and diving team finished competition at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar, on Wednesday.
Puskovitch placed 30th in the 5km event of the open water competition with a final time of 53:51. He was the second-highest American to finish in the event.
On Sunday, Feb. 4, Puskovitch qualified for the marathon swimming event at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games after he placed 14th in the 10km event. Puskovitch became just the second swimmer from WVU to qualify for the Olympics.
Puskovitch also became just the fifth American male in history to qualify for the Olympics in open water swimming since the event was added to the Olympics in 2008.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are from July 26 through August 11.
