MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The West Virginia University women's basketball team jumped comes in at No. 24 in the Associated Press (AP) Poll, announced Monday.

The ranking is the sixth straight week and the ninth time this season WVU has appeared in the weekly poll. The Mountaineers are 22-5 on the season and sit fourth in the Big 12 standing at 11-5 in conference play. West Virginia enters this week as the No. 21 team in the NET rankings.

WVU received 61 points this week to rank 24th in the poll and is one of five Big 12 teams featured in the latest rankings.

Texas (26-3) is No. 3 with 796 points while Kansas State (23-5) comes in at No. 15 with 422 points. Oklahoma (20-7) is No. 20 in the poll with 199 points and Baylor (21-6) is No. 21 with 189 points.

No. 1 South Carolina, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Stanford, and No. 5 Virginia Tech made up this week's top five.

The West Virginia women's basketball team returns to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 27, on the road against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.Â
