
2024 Outdoor Track and Field Schedule Released

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University track & field coach Sean Cleary has released the 2024 outdoor track & field schedule.
The season is highlighted by four home meets, which opens on March 22-23. The three remaining home meets will take place on April 19-20, April 27, and May 4.
The squad kicks off the 2024 outdoor season on March 15-16 at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Florida, at the USF Track and Field Stadium.
Next, the Mountaineers are slated for the first home meet of the season, the Stan Romanoski Open in Morgantown at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park on March 22-23.
West Virginia will split up the team for the Raleigh Relays on March 28-30 in Raleigh, North Carolina, which will be held at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility. The Mountaineers will also travel to the Stanford Invitational March 29-30 at the Cobb Track and Angeli Field in Standord, California.
Next up, West Virginia heads to the Dalton Ebanks Invitational in Fairfax, Virginia, on April 5-6 at the George Mason Stadium.
West Virginia continues competition with split squads heading to the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. on April 11-13 and the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on April 13-14.
The Mountaineers then return home for the Mountaineer Twilight on April 19-20 which will be held at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown. Additionally, part of the squad will travel to the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Next, the Gold and Blue will travel to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa., on April 25-27, which will be held at Franklin Field. Also on the 27th, West Virginia will host the Mountaineer Showcase in Morgantown.
West Virginia concludes the regular outdoor season on May 4 as it plays host to the WVU Last Chance Meet at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
The Mountaineers open the postseason at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship on May 9-11, which is set to be hosted by Baylor University in Waco, Texas, at the Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium.
The postseason continues at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Lexington, Kentucky on May 22-25 at the UK Track and Field Complex.
The season concludes on June 5-8 at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which will be held in Eugene, Oregon, at Hayward Field.
Last season, the squad competed in nine regular-season meets and three postseason competitions. West Virginia finished No. 17 in the Terry Crawford Program of the Year Award rankings, while then redshirt junior Celili McCabe claimed conference victory in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:12.79.
McCabe went on to earn All-America honors in the steeplechase at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The squad ended the season ranked No. 37 nationally by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
