
Mountaineers Face Off Against Toledo, William & Mary

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team will play host to Toledo on Friday, Feb. 16, and William & Mary on Sunday, Feb. 18, at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown, W.Va.
West Virginia (7-1) will play Toledo at 5 p.m. ET on Feb. 16, and William & Mary at 11 a.m. on Feb. 18.
The Mountaineers are facing Toledo and William & Mary for the first time since the 2022 season when they lost to the Rockets, 4-3, and defeated the Tribe, 4-3. WVU is 9-2 all-time against Toledo, and 1-5 all-time against William & Mary.
Three players are tied for the team lead in singles victories this season with six. Senior Momoko Nagato has the best overall record at 6-1, while redshirt sophomore Maja Dodik and freshman Maya Bordereau are both 6-2 overall.
In doubles play, Bordereau and Dodik lead the way for the Mountaineers. Bordereau and Dodik are 7-0 overall in doubles in their first season playing together. Most recently, the pair defeated the No. 2 doubles teams for Cleveland State and Radford on Feb. 10.
The doubles team of Nagato and junior Michaela Kucharova has played well this season, sitting at 4-1 overall. The pair have played in the No. 1 doubles spot all season for WVU.
West Virginia is 33-13 in singles and 13-6 in doubles this year.
