
West Virginia Meets Army, John Jay

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 3-ranked West Virginia University rifle team gets set for a two-match road trip this weekend, as the Mountaineers are set to compete against No. 16 Army and John Jay on Saturday and Sunday.
WVU (4-0, 1-0 GARC) first takes on the Army on Saturday and John Jay on Sunday. WVU will compete at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday and 9 a.m. ET on Sunday. Both matches will take place at Tronsrue Marksmanship Center in West Point, New York.
The match against Army will serve as a Great America Rifle Conference competition.

The Mountaineers are 44-10 all time against Army in a series that dates back to 1957. The meeting against John Jay marks the first time the two programs have met.
The Mountaineers have won 18 straight regular season matches. West Virginia's 4737.3 aggregate, 2354.5 smallbore and 2382.7 air rifle averages are the second best in the nation.
Freshman Ashlyn Blake is averaging a team-leading 1185.5 aggregate average which is the seventh best in the country. Freshman Camryn Camp's 596.5 air rifle average is the 11th best in the nation. Blake's 590.2 smallbore average is the seventh best mark in the country. All three marks lead the Mountaineers.
