
Rifle Holds at No. 3 in CRCA Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team is ranked No. 3 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) poll, the organization announced.
Alaska Fairbanks sits at No. 1 in the poll while Georgia Southern sits in second. Kentucky comes in just behind the Mountaineers in fourth while Murray State and TCU round out the top five in a tie for fifth.
The poll is determined based on each team's most recent match score.
Joining West Virginia and Kentucky from the GARC in the poll are No. 10 Navy, No. 11 Memphis, No. 12 Akron and No. 16 Army.
The Mountaineers have won 18 straight regular season matches, dating back to the beginning of the 2023-24 season. The Mountaineers' 4737.3 aggregate, 2354.5 smallbore and 2382.7 air rifle averages are the second best in the nation
The Mountaineers return to action this weekend on Nov. 9-10 against Army and John Jay at the Tronsrue Marksmanship Center in West Point, New York. WVU takes on Army on Saturday and John Jay Sunday with both matches set to start at 9 a.m. ET.
