MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – After finishing as runner ups at the NCAA Championships, the West Virginia University cross country team has been named the WVU Student-Athletes of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The finish marks the highest in program history, as West Virginia totaled 164 team points.
Senior
Ceili McCabe led the West Virginia pack, finishing in sixth place with a time of 19:41.2 in the women's 6k. With the finish, McCabe garnished First Team All-America honors and earned the ninth All-America accolade of her career. She becomes the fourth Mountaineer in program history with three cross county All-America honors, joining Marie-Louise Asselin, Keri Bland and Katie Gillespie.
Freshman
Joy Naukot finished next for West Virginia, garnishing First Team All-America accolades with her 17
th place and time of 19:50.3. Redshirt senior
Sarah Tait rounded out West Virginia's First Team All-America honors, after placing 34
th with a time of 20:00.9.

Saturday's race marked the final collegiate cross country meet for McCabe, Tait and Trippett, as West Virginia concluded the 2024 season.
