MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team comes in at No. 15 in the first edition of the AP Top 25 Women's Basketball Poll, released on Monday.
The Mountaineers moved up one spot from their No. 16 ranking in the preseason poll. The ranking is the highest West Virginia has been featured in a regular season poll since being ranked the same during the 2018 season.
WVU earned 329 points in the poll. A total of four Big 12 teams appeared in the rankings, including No. 8 Iowa State (552), No. 10 Kansas State (451) and No. 17 Baylor (209). In addition, TCU was listed as receiving votes.
The Mountaineers return to the floor on Tuesday, Nov. 12, when they renew the Backyard Brawl with Pitt. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
