MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University freshman golfer Nick Turowski won the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.
Turowski, a native of Harrison City, Pennsylvania, was the only golfer under par in the field, finishing -1 in the 36-hole event. After shooting Even par on Monday, Turowski had a quadruple bogey on No. 3 today to go to 4-over-par before recording five birdies over the final 14 holes to win the event.
Turowski becomes the second WVU golfer in a week to win a collegiate golf event. Last week, junior Kaleb Wilson won the inaugural Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational. Turowski becomes the sixth different WVU golfer to win a collegiate tournament, and it marks the ninth time a WVU golfer has won a collegiate tournament.

Two additional WVU golfers competed as individuals in the tournament. Redshirt freshman Hugh Donegan finished 14-over-par, while junior Westy McCabe shot 17-over-par.
