Max Green shot 5-under-par and junior
Kaleb Wilson shot 4-under-par to lead the West Virginia University golf team at the White Sands Collegiate in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Green is tied for sixth place while Wilson is tied for eighth place after 18 holes of play. Houston's Wolfgang Glawe leads the field at 9-under-par.
Senior
Todd Duncan shot 1-over-par for WVU on Friday, while freshman
Nick Turowski was +2. Senior
Pierce Grieve posted a 7-over-par round. Freshman
Ryan Leach and junior
Westy McCabe are competing as individuals for the Mountaineers. Leach is tied for 20
th place at 1-under-par, while McCabe is tied for 28
th place at Even par.
West Virginia's team score of 6-under-par places the Mountaineers in sixth place after the first round, two shots behind Ball State and Northern Illinois. College of Charleston leads the 12-team field with a 17-under-par round.
The second round will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, followed by the final round on Sunday.
