Quinerly Earns USBWA National Player of the Week Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior guard JJ Quinerly has been named one of five U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Players of the Week, the association announced on Tuesday.
The Norfolk, Virginia native produced a career-best scoring performance in an 84-78 win over Iowa State on Saturday. She added a team-high six rebounds and five steals and three assists in the win. She is just the third player in program history to reach the stat line. Quinerly broke the 30-point mark for the second time this season and of her career.
Quinerly has helped guide the Mountaineers to one of the best starts in program history, sitting at 17-2 overall and a 6-2 mark in the Big 12 Conference. She leads WVU and sits fourth in the conference with 19.2 points per game. Her 3.4 steals per game also lead the Big 12.
The USBWA Player of the Week honor is the first of Quinerly's career.
