MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University quarterback Garrett Greene was a late addition to participate in the Manning Passing Academy taking place this weekend at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
 
Greene is among the 40+ college quarterbacks attending the four-day event run by executive director Archie Manning and senior associate directors Cooper, Eli and Peyton Manning.
 
According to the Academy website: "For over 25 years, the Manning Passing Academy has been heling players fully realize their potential on and off the football field. Whether you're a quarterback, running back, wide receiver or tight end, the Manning Passing Academy will help you grasp the fundamentals of your position, and basic offensive and defensive strategies.
 
"We've gathered some of the most successful and brightest coaches and players from the professional, college and high school ranks to help all campers learn from the best."

West Virginia coach Neal Brown believes the camp will be beneficial to Greene, who is battling redshirt freshman Nicco Marchiol for the starting quarterback job this fall.
 
"He's going to be down there around some of the top quarterbacks in the country, as well as Peyton and Eli," Brown said. "Then he gets to do those competitions and when he does those people are going to be like 'whoa' because he can throw it with the best of them. That ball is going to come out tight."
 
West Virginia opens the 2023 season at Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Beaver Stadium. The Mountaineers' home opener is against Duquesne on Saturday, Sept. 9. 
 
The Backyard Brawl against Pitt will be played on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Milan Puskar Stadium and will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ABC.
