West Virginia Returns to Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team concludes its road trip by returning to Morgantown for the Mountaineer Showcase at The Track & Field Complex at Mylan Park.
The Mountaineer Showcase is set to begin 11 a.m. ET on both days. Live results can be found at wvusports.com.
Last season at the Mountaineer showcase, WVU tallied ten top-five finishes and three individual victories. Then-redshirt junior Hayley Jackson won the 800-meter while setting the Mylan park track record with a time of 2:08.16. Jackson later went on to break her own record with a time of 2:05.92.
Additionally, then-junior Katherine Dowie took home first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line at 10:13.68. Then-sophomore Katelyn Caccamo also earned first-place in pole vault with a height of 3.71 meters.
Of note, then-sophomore Maria Kaylor placed second in the 1,500-meter with a time of 4:39.01, and then-freshman sophomore Megan Weaver followed her with a time of 4:45.27.
West Virginia's events at Mylan Park on Friday consist of the hammer throw, discus throw, long jump, shot put, high jump and javelin throw in the field. On the track, Friday is made up of the 5,000-meter run, 800-meter, 1,500-meter run and 3,000-meter steeplechase. Field events on Saturday in Morgantown are the discus throw, triple jump and pole vault. Saturday's track session consists of the 100-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles, 4x100 relay, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash and 4x400 relay.
