MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - What a weekend we've got coming up in Morgantown!
Prior to Saturday's Gold-Blue Spring Game, Montgomery, West Virginia, resident and international touring singer-songwriter Philip Bowen will be performing a free concert on the East side of Milan Puskar Stadium.
The lifelong Mountaineer fan has become an online sensation over the last two years and just recently reached one million followers on TikTok. He describes his emotions opening for the West Virginia football team, his meteoric rise in the entertainment industry and his musical inspirations.
Saturday's Gold-Blue Spring Game, presented by Encova Insurance, will kick off at 1 p.m. and will be televised on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Tickets are $10 with a portion of the proceeds benefitting WVU Medicine Children's. Since 1984, the Mountaineers have donated more than $790,000 to WVU Medicine.
Meanwhile, up on the hill in Granville, a huge series awaits West Virginia University's 26-11 baseball team, now 29
th in Boyd's World's Pseudo RPI. Former TCU pitcher and radio analyst Connor Wanhanen gives us some insight on the Horned Frogs (No. 51 in Boyd's World) as they travel to Morgantown for this weekend's three-game series. TCU and WVU sit third and fourth respectively in the Big 12 standings.
