
West Virginia Wraps Up Stan Romanoski Open

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team concluded the opening match of the outdoor season on March 18 at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park.
Senior Sada Wright tallied a distance of 44.90 meters in the discuss throw. Wright also recorded a shot put of 11.64 meters.
Junior Katelyn Caccamo earned a height of 3.50 meters in pole Vault. On the track, her classmate Zara Zervos secured a time of 5:24.31 in the 1,500-meter steeplechase.
Freshman Olivia Cress and sophomore Eden Williams competed in the high jump for WVU. Cress led the field with a height of 1.65 meters, while Williams notched a height of 1.55 meters in the season opener. Cress's effort tied her collegiate best.
Sophomore Ghamani Hogue opened the season with a 17.04 performance in the 100-meter hurdles. Junior Megan Weaver earned a 2:23.10 in the 800-meter.
Friday and Saturday marked the third consecutive season West Virginia has opened the outdoor campaign with the Stan Romanoski Open after the meet was canceled in 2020.
West Virginia continues the campaign with the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina, on March 23-25. The meet is hosted by NC State. Live Stats are available on WVUsports.com.
