MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team wraps up the 2022-23 indoor season on Friday, Feb. 17, at the Nittany Lion Challenge hosted by Penn State University at the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Friday marks the fourth time WVU has competed at Penn State this season, with the last meet being the Sykes & Sabock Challenge on Feb. 4. The 2023-23 indoor track and field season is the first indoor season in over 10 years that West Virginia has competed in four different meets at Penn State.
The Mountaineers last competed at the BU Valentine and the Marshall Invite on Feb. 10 and 11. Sophomore
Cassandra Williamson ran the 800-meter in Boston, setting the second-best time in program history with a mark of 2:06.00. Senior
Sada Wright earned second-place on WVU's all-time weight throw list at the Marshall Invite with a throw of 17.83 meters.
In all, 16 schools are sending athletes to compete in the event, including Mid-Atlantic Region foe Penn State.
Friday's field events include shot put, long jump, pole vault, weight throw, triple jump and high jump. On the track, runners will compete in the mile, 60-meter hurdles, 60-meter sprint, 600-meter run, 400-meter sprint, 800-meter run, 200-meter sprint, distance medley relay, 3,000-meter run and 4x400 relay.
