
Mountaineers Set Personal Bests at Marshall

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team wrapped up competition at the Marshall Invite hosted by Marshall University at the Jeff Small Track in Huntington, West Virginia, on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Redshirt freshman Emily Bryce set a personal best in the mile at the invite. The Paisley, Ontario, Canada, native crossed the finished line at 5:06.67. Bryce broke her record she set in her last time out on Feb. 4 when she ran the mile in 5:08.75.
Sophomore Tazanna Epps competed in the 800-meter in Huntington. Epps ran the race in 2:29.78, beating her previous best by almost four seconds. The Charleston, West Virginia, native ran the 800 in 2:33.60 at the Penn State Tune Up on Feb. 18, 2022.
Senior Tess Constantine took on the 200-meter sprint on Saturday. Constantine earned a personal best with a time of 25.35. Freshman Olivia Cress, sophomore Ghamani Hogue and freshman Sierra Heisey also competed in the 200-meter. Cress earned a personal best, running the 200 in 25.97. Hogue also set her personal best with a time of 27.25, and Heisey crossed the line at 27.37.
West Virginia continues the campaign on Feb. 17, as the team heads to the Penn State Tune Up. The tune up is hosted by Penn State in University Park. Live Stats are available on WVUsports.com.
