
West Virginia Concludes Regular Season at Kentucky

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 3-ranked West Virginia University rifle team returns to action in Lexington, Kentucky, as it takes on No. 4 Kentucky.
Saturday marks the third contest against the Wildcats this season, and the match will be shot in two relays throughout the day. The first relay will begin at 8 a.m. ET, and the second relay will follow at 12:30 p.m. A live scorecard for the matches can be found at ncaarifle.org. West Virginia (15-3, 8-0 GARC) is 22-11 all-time against Kentucky (7-1), with the series beginning in 1963.
The Mountaineers were off last weekend, having last competed against No. 9 Navy on Jan. 28. WVU's most recent match was Senior Day, and West Virginia defeated the Midshipmen 4742-4709. Senior Mary Tucker topped the individual leaderboard on Senior Day with an aggregate score of 1195, including a 597 in smallbore and a 598 in air rifle.
Tucker leads the nation, averaging 1191.222 aggregate points per match. The Sarasota, Florida, native sits third in air rifle average with 598 points per match and is first in smallbore average with 593.222.
WVU ranks No. 3 nationally in aggregate average (4732.083), air rifle average (2381.833) and smallbore average (2350.25).
