MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 15, 2022) – The West Virginia University tennis team opens the fall portion of its schedule in Charlottesville, Virginia, for Virginia's Wahoowa Invitational from Sept. 16-18.
"We are looking forward to starting the fall semester this weekend and testing ourselves against some good competition," Mountaineer coach Miha Lisa said. "This fall, I'm looking for a lot of progress from the team and this weekend is a big opportunity for us to get a good measurement of each player – doubles teams and the team as a whole."
The Invite takes place at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar's Head Resort. Most matches will be played outdoors, while extra matches will be contested on the indoor courts at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
There will be three waves of matches each day. On Friday and Saturday, matches begin at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. ET. On Sunday, competition is set to begin at 9.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The Mountaineers join Auburn, Illinois, LSU, NC State, Old Dominion, Princeton and UVA in Charlottesville.
Results will be posted on wvusports.com at the conclusion of each day.
