MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two members of the West Virginia University men's swimming and diving team conclude competition at USA Swimming's 2022 Phillips 66 U.S. National Championships in Irvine, California, on Friday.
Senior David Snider and junior Justin Heimes represented the Mountaineers at the five-day, long-course meters meet held at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. Both Snider and Heimes were among some of the nation's top swimmers at the event.
"David and Justin represented WVU and themselves very well," Mountaineer men's associate head coach Rick West said. "They were both able to take away experiences from this meet that will help them this upcoming season. I could not be prouder of how they performed at their first National competition."
Snider competed in the men's 100-meter butterfly on Thursday, June 28. The Parkersburg, West Virginia, native finished 36th overall with a lifetime best of 54.19.
Heimes' swim in the men's 100-meter backstroke concluded competition for the Mountaineers on Friday. The Quakertown, Pennsylvania, native swam a 57.84 to finish 63rd overall.
