
Wright Earns Academic All-District Honors

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Senior Sada Wright of the West Virginia University track and field team has been named to the 2021-22 Academic All-District II Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
The honor is the first for the Glenville, West Virginia native. Wright will now move onto the CoSIDA Academic All-America National ballot, where first-, second-and third-team All-America honors will be announced in June.
While majoring in public health, Wright maintained a 4.00 grade-point average (GPA). Additionally, Wright has been named to the Academic-All Big 12 First Team each year since 2019 and has earned recognition on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll.
In outdoor competition, Wright sits in third place all-time in the discus competition after tallying a distance of 48.54 meters at the Mountaineer Twilight and Stan Romanoski Open this past season.
Wright also sits in second place all-time in program history in the indoor hammer throw competition after tallying a distance of 17.55 meters in 2020.
